Bowel / Colon Problems
The Large Intestine
Bowel problems – constipation, diarrhea, gastro-colicreflex (urge to defecate) may be weak.
Peristalsis – muscle contractions that move the food and waste through the colon may be working too hard due to impaction, gas, excessive mucus, parasite activity, putrefaction, plaque build up other problems may be loops, curves and twists or a prolapsed colon thus inhibiting normal parastalsis resulting in abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea and loss of energy. The absolute best way to not get bowel problems is to avoid eating foods and doing things that cause the problems.
- Drink minimum 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water. Eat a high fiber diet. (It will also lower cholesterol.) Take our “Super Nutrition or Perfect Food.” One tablespoon is equivalent to 10 servings of vegetables and two of fruit to provide you with your daily greens. Do not eat anything that has hydrogenated oil (or partially) on its label of ingredients – that is rancid oil.
- Give your body and digestive track a rest one day a week eat just raw vegetables and drink plenty of water.
A. Raw vegetables have their own enzymes and aid digestion.
B. Most of us have a sluggish digestive system, the transit time is too slow.
This can cause fermentation (gas), the process is accelerated when you:
- Drink liquids with your meals Consume a lot of carbs and other sugars
- Eat desert – skip it!
There is a book you should read. We have it, or you can pick it up. Its by Lee DaBelle and called “Proper Food Combining.”We all can’t eat perfect. And we are going to experience some digestive discomforts from time to time. To help with digestion you should take our “Vitalzym” they are very powerful enzymes that accelerate the breakdown of foods for digestion and faster assimilation into our bodies.
Why Do Dairy Products Bother Me?
Most likely because of the lactose in Dairy. Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest significant amounts of lactose, the predominant sugar of milk. This inability results from a shortage of the enzyme lactase, which is normally produced by the cells that line the small intestine. Lactase breaks down milk sugar into simpler forms that can then be absorbed into the bloodstream.
When there is not enough lactase to digest the amount of lactose consumed, the results, although not usually dangerous, may be very distressing. While not all persons deficient in lactase have symptoms, those who do are considered to be lactose intolerant. Common symptoms include nausea, cramps, bloating, gas, and diarrhea, which begin about 30 minutes to two hours after eating or drinking foods containing lactose. The severity of symptoms varies depending on the amount of lactose each individual can tolerate.
